Experience London Without Breaking the Budget

Hello everyone! If you’ve been following my Facebook posting, you know that I am a BIG fan of the city of London, and have been fortunate enough to take a couple of trips there in the last 2 years. Some of you have reached out to me about taking such a trip, and when we discuss options, many of you are very concerned about how much you’ll spend day-to-day after having bought those plane tickets and reserved your hotel.

Make no mistake, London can be an expensive city. You can also, however, have an incredible day with very little money coming out of your pocket. As an example, here are some real, actual things that my husband and I experienced on a trip this past June. Over the next couple days I’ll show you what we’ve done, including public transportation, lunch, dinner, a stop for a drink, and two attractions that I don’t think you’d want to miss. The total cost? Take a look below!

Stop 1 – Greenwich
We had been here before, and it’s one of our favorite places. We walked around the grounds and through the Old Royal Naval College. The Painted Hall is undergoing renovations, but they will be complete in March of 2019.

We went to Greenwich Market to look around and to grab some sandwiches from one of the many food stands. We picked a vegan option because my husband is allergic to eggs and, also, because it was amazingly delicious! We then took our sandwiches and waters and headed to the Greenwich park, sat under a tree and had picnic #1 of this day. Lastly, a trip to Greenwich Meantime Brewery for a pint!

Total Costs for Stop 1 – ~£25:
Old Royal Naval College – Free
Greenwich Market (lunch) – ~£15
Meantime Brewery – ~£10
