Villains Tonight! and Enchanted Garden – A Sweet Ending to the Evening

Since our dinner seating was at 8:15pm we went back to the stateroom after the Sail Away Party to relax for a bit.  Just before six we changed for dinner and headed to the first show of the evening, “Villains Tonight!”  The theater reminds you of a grand theater in its glory days, but equipped with all the latest technology!  There are trap doors, flying wires, smoke machines and more!  The theater has balcony seating, so if you don’t want to sit on the main floor make your way upstairs for a second floor view!  If you’re feeling parched or hungry there are servers wandering around before the show.  You can order a beverage and popcorn if you like.  But there is a charge for this and some passengers didn’t realize this wasn’t a place where things were complimentary.

The seating was comfy, with plenty of leg room, even for my 6’2″ husband!  The show itself stars Hades, Lord of the Underworld, who apparently has lost enough of his evilness that the Three Fates are threatening to take away the Underworld from his control!  Can the Disney Villains help?  I won’t tell!  After the show we briefly browsed the shops, (which are only open when the ship is at sea) but it was too crowded after the show.  We decided instead to make our way to Deck 2 for our dinner at the Enchanted Garden.  Think Victorian Garden Party atmosphere for the decor.  As you dine the lighting goes from late afternoon to twilight and your surroundings become more magical.  All I’m going to say is watch the light fixtures!

This is the first time you’ll meet the wait staff that will rotate through the restaurants with you for the duration of your cruise.  It was great because they quickly learned your likes and dislikes and anticipated your needs, even memorizing what you prefer to drink!  There were so many menu choices that I liked to let my server recommend the best dishes each evening and then go from there.  You really can eat all you like!  If you want 2 appetizers, go for it!  Kids can order from the adult menu and vice versa!  (My sister-in-law liked the kids Strawberry Shortcake!)  Don’t worry if you have food allergies, they went out of their way to accommodate my husband.

For planning purposes, dinner is roughly 1 – 1.5 hours, for a party of 10 (which we were).  You can always ask your wait staff to speed up or slow down the service though.  Once dinner was finished we had planned to watch The Avengers in 3D at the onboard movie theater, but we were just too tired!  Off to bed it was!

PS  The nightly turn-down service and chocolates are great!
