The 5 Best Booths at EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival

The calendar has turned to October, and EPCOT’s 2018 Food and Wine Festival is now past the halfway point. I’ve had the chance to experience many of the offerings this year, and have decided  to post my top 5 tastes of 2018! Without further ado, here are my favorites (so far) this year:

1. Spain – Seafood Salad

My husband and I ordered this dish during the middle of a very hot Florida afternoon, and it
really hit the spot. We were also very impressed with the amount and variety of seafood we
received. The description of the dish mentions shrimp, bay scallops and mussels, and boy did
they deliver! There were enough of all of those items for us to split this dish and both feel like
we had a bit of everything.

2. Active Eats – Spice-crusted Verlasso Salmon

This whole section of the Food and Wine Festival is one of my favorites, and there are lots of
good choices. My favorite, however, is this salmon dish. It was moist and tender, which was a
pleasant surprise as many a fine restaurant can turn out an overcooked salmon. The power
salad was a good bite on its own, as the vinegar really added the acidic punch this needed.

3. India – Madras Red Curry

My husband and I are both big fans of Indian cuisine, and this curry did not disappoint. It was
flavorful, with just the right balance of spices and spiciness. If you’ve never given curry a try, I’d
recommend stopping by and picking this up!

4. Japan – Ozeki Rai Sake

We have made several trips to the Food and Wine festival so far this year, and each visit has
found one of us ordering sake. We’re a fan of this spirit in general, but this option is really
lovely. In fact, if you’ve never tried sake and are wondering what it’s like, this is a good way to
start. It’s smooth, sweet and just very refreshing!

5. Festival Center (Craft Drafts) – Florida Beer Company Passport Triple Chocolate Milk Stout

OK, first, let me be honest. Florida Beer Company is located in Cape Canaveral, Florida, which is
a very short drive from where we live. I have been there a few times, have taken the tour, and
even joined their running club on Monday nights. So yes, I was already a fan of their beers
before having this particular brew last year. It is, without question, my favorite from Florida
Beer Company. In fact, this was the very first stop on the very first visit this year! I look forward
to this all year long…

Blogger, Traveler, Wife, Runner….I’m known as many different things.  But I’m here to be your Travel Professional.  Ever since I was a little girl I had an interest in travel. I would collect the postcards books that my grandparents brought back to me from their travels and I kept them in a special box that I loved to pull out and flip through. As I traveled with my family I started collecting postcards on my own and pictures, maps, and other mementos of my travels.

Believe it or not, I still have those postcards and every once in awhile I’ll bring them out and flip through smiling at the memories they bring back. Although I might not collect postcards anymore I collect photos, stories and information on my travels. I love to soak up a destination, reveling in the local food life. I absolutely love sharing my travel stories, foodie moments and special encounters.
